Abstract
With the increasing levels of multiculturalism in today's businesses and the internationalisation of organisations, the development and management of organisations need to be considered in the light of the cultural factors which impact on their activities. Hofstede's work on culture provides academia and practitioners a valuable insight into the dynamics of cross-cultural relationships. National and corporate cultures may differ but organisations that have been able to blend both, establish a good and positive corporate image which employees identify with. This paper takes a critical look at Hofstede's work and its application in organisations highlighting benefits in blending national and corporate cultures.
