Abstract
This study delves into the opportunities presented by the integration of social media in higher education, focusing on student perspectives. Through a mixed- methods approach involving quantitative surveys and qualitative focus group discussions, the research explored how social media impacts learning experiences at two institutions. Findings reveal that students acknowledge the benefits of social media for information searching, informal learning, and knowledge acquisition. Exploratory factor analysis was employed to extract key factors influencing students’ responses, ensuring data reliability and validity. The study underscores the importance of considering the advantages of social media integration in educational settings to optimise its potential for enhancing student learning outcomes.
