Abstract

The chapter examines how party vigilantes" violent electoral activities permeate electoral processes in Ghana. The chapter undertakes a comprehensive discussion of how party vigilantes have carried out election violence in the electoral processes, and the effects of such violence on sustainable democracy. It further examines the phenomenon of electoral violence to broadly understand and illuminate the electoral violence and party vigilantism that have shaped African democratization in recent times.
