Abstract
Health data is indispensable for the routine operation, monitoring, and planning of interventions in public health systems. Within population data ecosystems at large, administrative health registers are often among the most sophisticated systems, as the “ability to measure and monitor the health of populations” in terms of epidemiology, demography, and biostatistics is a prerequisite for public health decision-making (AbouZahr and Boerma, 2005).
